"We both understand the principles of getting rid of clutter but somehow there was too much inertia to overcome, which in turn blocked any real forward progress. Each time we tried, we would spend several well-intentioned days working through some files and then other issues would emerge to occupy our time.  Consequently, we really did not make sufficient forward progress.

Our thought in hiring Margaret was to leverage her expertise in organizing, but even more, her capacity as a 'coach' to keep us focused on achieving our objective of living without clutter.  That seems a lofty goal, but I can tell you that we are currently living without clutter!   Interestingly, during the process, we discovered that a number of things that really were important, but had become buried, presumably to be looked at another day.  Now, we have a clear picture of what we own, where it is and why we are keeping it.  The rest of the 'stuff' - well, it's available at your local Goodwill store.  Thanks Margaret!"

Margaret Quinn joined Eliminate Chaos at the beginning of 2006 after 8 years as a strategic marketing consultant to small businesses and organizations and 15 years in bank product management and development.

 

Margaret’s diverse background enables her to divide her time in both the Business and Residential Divisions of Eliminate Chaos. Margaret spends the majority of her time working with businesses to create systems and processes that allow them to work more efficiently and spend more time working “on” their business, instead of “in” their business. Specifically, she works with her clients to create paper work flow systems, filing systems as well as looking at how the computer can be better used to organize information. Margaret’s end goal is to create systems that are tailored to the individual so that the future retrieval and maintenance of the information, whether digital or paper-based is a snap!

Working full time and raising two daughters on her own, Margaret believed than an organized home help lay the foundation for her daughters to know where things belonged and how their home needed to operate. Her friends and former co-workers were so impressed with her organizational skills both at home and at work that they finally persuaded her to pursue a career in organizing - something that came so natural to her.

When Margaret is not busy working with individuals in their offices, she can be found working with clients in their homes. The end result of her work is that her clients feel less overwhelmed and more in control of their daily lives because they now live in a home that is organized where everything has a “home.”

Originally from Atlanta, Margaret has lived in Seattle area for 21 years and has found her true home and true love with husband, Jerry. With two grown daughters, she now has time to think straight, read, enjoy book group, get creative around the house, take art and interior design courses, and devote time to being a friend. She and Jerry love the performing arts and go as often as possible.  

Margaret received her BA in French from Trinity College in Washington, DC. Margaret also received her Certified Professional Organizer, CPO® designation in May 2008.
