Laura’s Organizing Genius Took Root Early and by Necessity

Laura came by her organizing genius out of necessity.  From a very early age, Laura made sure her Mom – a visually impaired, music teacher -- could find what she needed when she needed it.  These early acts of service and love built a strong appreciation for form, function and order.  Today she and her team orchestrate beautiful and elegant organizing systems, processes, and work flows to create symphonies of order, productivity, and more.

 

What many would be surprised to learn is that while Laura’s home in Snohomish, WA is lovely and well organized, it is also a welcome haven for treasured pets (Bear {the Alaskan Malamute} and Chaos {the Bernese Mountain Dog}) and past four-legged family member’s Teddy and her beloved Saint Bernard named Mozart.

 

Mozart joined Laura at the same time she launched her company. With Laura’s training and focus on desired end results, Mozart quickly learned to stop at the door to have his paws wiped off.  He also learned to stay out of the living and dining room.  Setting up systems, boundaries and expectations paved the way for many happy, joyful moments with Mozart through the years, much like business systems and processes do for clients. She’ll quickly tell you that it is treasured moments in life that matter most and not the stuff.

 

Laura’s favorite place to travel is Hawaii. Lounging on a beach chair while holding a fruity drink adorned by a paper umbrella, Laura loves to read and do a lot of nothing while pondering beautiful sunsets with her husband Rob by her side.  They married on the well-ordered date of 9-10-11.

I have worked with Laura for over 6 years and I can’t imagine my life without her. Finding myself in disorganization overwhelm, I made an appointment with Laura. I heard her speak at an event and liked her immediately. I found her warm, understanding and inviting. She spoke of our need to “only handle paper once” and to create a system of storing necessary documents (both on the computer and as hard copies) in a manner that makes it easy to both file and retrieve items with ease. We jumped in and by the end of the day we had created such a system. I had plenty of “homework” to do yet I felt calmer and noticed a sense of ease as we finished our workday. I also felt accepted and not judged for how disorganized I had allowed my office to become.

 

As we continued to work together over the years, we made a natural shift from hard copy organization to computer clean up and order. Laura helped me to begin learning basic computer skills necessary in order to “eliminate the chaos” on my laptop. We created folders and documents, spread sheets, headers, footers, data bases – and more. Laura is a patient and compassionate teacher and guide. We made our way through years of unskillful habits and continued to create order and ease. We worked both side by side and, at times, remotely (which works beautifully). Laura always worked with my needs and my level of understanding, never suggesting any program or system that would be inappropriate for me. I trust Laura completely.

 

I wish I could convey the level of stress reduction that I have experienced after working with Laura. I am now able to file and store important paper items and work on my computer with a sense of order and efficiency. When I walk into my office or start my computer, I feel happy and secure in knowing I can find things. I spend very little time searching for items and my life has an ease and flow now.  When I think back on how it “used to be”, I just shake my head.

 

I cannot recommend Laura highly enough. My life has changed significantly from working with Laura – it’s about so much more than the “stuff”.
